Description


The Detailed Report option prints to the Output Window a complete description of the contents of a selected node, which can be very useful for quickly getting information about the contents rather than opening individual dialogs.  The details printed will depend on the node selected.

This feature can be accessed in the following ways:

Right mouse click on a node in the object tree and select "Detailed Report" from the list menu.

Report listings for different nodes

A Detailed Report can be generated for any FRED entity or folder: sources, geometry, analysis surfaces, materials, coatings, and scatterers.  The following list describes the report listing for each node type.

Sources: lists all of the source setup parameters (type, name, size, wavelength, coherence, polarization, power, etc.).

Geometry:  lists, surface by surface, all of the geometry setup parameters (type, name, aperture, materials, raytrace controls, coatings, etc.) as well as the ray path node number specification.

Catalog Lens, Mirror, or Lens element:  lists the first order properties of the element.

Analysis Surface: lists its name, size, rendering attributes, and active ray filters.

Material: lists its type, name, refractive index data, dispersion coefficients, etc.

Coating: lists its type, name, coefficients, materials, etc.

Scatterer: lists its type, name, and coefficients or setup parameters.

Raytrace Control: lists its type, name, and control settings.

Spectrum: lists the spectrum name, type, node number, wavelength range, area under spectrum, luminous efficacy, chromaticity coordinates, parameters used in defining the spectrum

Analysis Results: lists the ARN name, description, node number, grid type, data type, physical meaning and resolution
