Ray Statistics

Description


The Ray Statistics command outputs the statistical average, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum of the position and direction coordinates for rays associated with traceable objects in the FRED document.  When called, the user is presented with a Ray Selection Filter dialog that will allow designation of:

The coordinate system in which the ray statistics will be reported

The Ray Selection Criteria that must be satisfied in order for rays to contribute to the ray statistics analysis

Menu > Analyses > Ray Statistics

Controls


The Ray Selection Filter dialog, whose controls are identified in the table below, stores its last applied settings so that if the dialog is closed, re-opening the dialog will display previously configured settings.

 

Control

Inputs / Description

Defaults

Coordinate System

Entity picker control allowing selection of the coordinate system in which the ray statistics data will be reported.

Global Coordinates

Ray Selection Filter

Allows input of Ray Selection Criteria that rays must satisfy in order to be included in the statistics report.

All Rays

 

OK

Performs the analysis and closes the dialog.

 

Cancel

Closes the dialog without performing the analysis.

 

Apply

Perform the analysis and leave the dialog open.
