Description


This feature defines random ray positions in a volume having user-specified X, Y and Z aperture dimensions and shape.

This feature can be accessed by selecting Random Volume (random points arranged in a volume) as the ray position type on the Positions/Directions tab of a detailed source dialog box.

Defaults

Ray Positions

Type

Drop down menu of ray position options. Select Random Volume.

Grid plane

Parameters

Num Rays

Number of rays randomly distributed in the volume.

100

X Semi-Ape

Ray volume semi-diameter in the X direction.

0.5

Y Semi-Ape

Ray volume semi-diameter in the Y direction.

0.5

Z Semi-Ape

Ray volume semi-diameter in the Z direction.

0.5

Shape

Drop down menu with the available volume shapes.  Options are:

Box

Spheroid

X - cylinder

Y - cylinder

Z - cylinder

Spheroid

 

OK

Accept settings and close dialog box.

 

Cancel

Discard settings and close dialog box.

 

Apply

Apply settings and close dialog box.
