Description

This command reports the x,y,z position vector, a,b,c direction vector, incoherent power, path length and associated entity for every active ray meeting a user-defined ray selection filter criteria.  The reported vectors are output in the coordinate system specified by the user.  Reporting the Ray-by-Ray summary can be a useful diagnostic tool in order to quickly survey some of the basic ray properties in a table format.

As an example application, suppose that during an irradiance calculation it is observed that a single pixel has an unusually high irradiance value with respect to the expected value.  The Ray-by-Ray summary could be used to report the basic ray information to the output window in order to quickly determine whether there is a ray whose incoherent power value is an outlier in the rayset.  If so, the ray's ID number can be retrieved from the summary listing and then further diagnostics could be performed on the ray using other tools such as the Single Raytrace feature.
