Description


Allows testing of the function used to define a scripted surface by iterating a ray with a given direction to a specified point, (X,Y,Z).  The value of the function and its derivatives are presented for verification.

This command can be accessed by clicking on the "Test" button on the Implicit Script Surface dialog box.

Position at which to evaluate the function.

Direction for the intersecting ray.

Derivatives

Derivatives of the function at the intersection point.

Approx. Derivatives

The approximate derivatives are computed from function evaluations around the test point and will provide some indication that the derivative formulas entered in the script are correct.

Function

Value of the function at the intersection point.

Iterations to converge

Number of iterations required for convergence.

Intersection

Calculated intersection point of the iterated ray.

Summary

Indicates success or failure of intersection.

 

 

Perform Test

Accept settings and keep dialog box open.
