User Tools allows script subroutines to be executed from the GUI using toolbar buttons. Up to 10 scripts can be added as User Tools. This feature is extremely useful when a user has written custom tools and needs to access them frequently.
User Tools can be added in the following ways: •Menu > View > Toolbars •Check the User Tools option OR select Customize, then select the Commands tab, select User Tools and drag/drop the button icons to the toolbar in your FRED GUI •Menu > Tools > Preferences: File Locations, select User Tool N and specify the location of the user script to be used
Setting user tool names for display The name that gets displayed for an associated user toolbar button can be set in the FRED Preferences menu from the File Locations tab. The entries "Displayed Name, User Tool X" allow specification of a name that will appear both as a tooltip on the user tool toolbar button and on the User Defined Scripting Tools list available on the Tools menu.
