New Subassembly

Description


This command specifies a new subassembly for the current FRED document. Elements, Custom Elements and other Subassemblies can be added as child nodes.  Surfaces and curves cannot be added directly to a subassembly, they must first be added to a custom element.

This command can be accessed in the following ways:

Menu > Create > New Subassembly

Toolbar button:

On the Geometry folder in the object tree view, right mouse click and select "Create New Subassembly..." from the list menu.

Ctrl + Alt + S

Control

Inputs / Description

Defaults

Logical Parent

The parent of the new subassembly. This control is disabled when editing an existing subassembly.

Geometry folder or the selected Subassembly at the time of creation

Name

Name for the Subassembly.

Subassembly n

Description

Description for the Subassembly to be displayed in the object tree view.

Blank

Attributes

Traceable

Subassembly is considered traceable during the raytrace.

Selected

Draw bounding box

Shows the bounding box of the Subassembly.

Not Selected

Position/Orientation

Location

The table of linear transformation operations that specifies the location and orientation of the source.

Coordinates system of parent

 

OK

Accept settings and close dialog box.

 

Cancel

Discard settings and close dialog box.
