This command allows the model (all geometry) to be exported to a faceted geometry file in *.obj or *.dat format (*.obj preferred). This option is only available when a single node on the tree has been selected. Only the geometry underneath the node that is selected will be exported. The exported geometry will be in the coordinate system of the selected node. For example, if the Geometry folder is selected when this menu option is executed then the entire system geometry is exported in the Global Coordinate system. Vertex normal data is also generated during the export.
The tessellation of the individual surfaces determines the starting sampling when generating the exported facets. Additional facets may be created in specific regions of the surface depending on the local curvature.
Faceted export of arrayed entities is not supported. If an arrayed entity is requested to be exported as a faceted geometry, only the base cell of the array will be exported.
This command can be accessed by selecting a single geometry node (or the Geometry folder), then right mouse clicking on that node, and then selecting "Export Selection as Faceted Geometry" from the context menu.
