Description

This feature scales the length dimensions of the objects in the FRED model. The following options are available:

Scale to a different unit: changes the units but not the object geometry sizes.  For example, a lens with a diameter of 1 [inch] could be scaled to 25.4 [mm].  The units have been changed but the physical size has not.

Change the units without scaling the objects: changes the units and changes the physical size of the objects by the ratio of New Units to Old Units.  For example, a 1 [inch] diameter lens could be scaled to a 1 [mm] diameter lens.

Scale by a number: changes the size of an object but does not change the units.  For example a 1 [inch] diameter lens could be scaled to a 5 [inch] diameter lens.

Defaults

Change System Units

This option changes the system length measurement units.  It will scale the dimensions of all objects to the new units but does not change the actual size of the objects, i.e. an object 1 [in] long would be scaled to 25.4 [mm].

Current system Units

Lists current system length units.

Same as the current units

Change units designation only

Changes the units designation without scaling the object length dimensions, i.e. an object 1 mm long would be scaled to 1 inch.

Unchecked

Scale system

Scales the object dimensions without changing the units designation.
