Enable Formula Engine in dialogs
Allows entry of formulas in dialogs that have grids.

Enter Curvatures (uncheck to enter radii)
Checking this option causes FRED to prompt for entry of the curvature of an object (1/radius) whenever appropriate. Unchecking this box causes FRED to ask for the radius.

Automatically lock analysis windows open
When an analysis window is opened, this option will keep it open by default when the ray set is deleted.

Show tutorials/samples dialog when starting FRED
When checked, displays the Tutorials and Samples Dialog when FRED starts up. Useful for beginning users.

Generate a different random number sequence for every raytrace
When checked, FRED initializes all random number generators before each raytrace begins assuring a different set of random numbers in each instance. The same random number sequence is generated when unchecked.

Show general comment dialog when opening FRED document
When checked, displays the comment for a file when the file is opened.

Used file-based data transfer for drag/drop or cut/paste
When checked, FRED stores drag/drop and cut/paste data in a temporary file. This avoids possible overflow of system RAM in cases involving large geometry. System RAM is used for this operation if unchecked.

Wrap lines in FGD output files for easy editing, instead of at row boundaries
When checked, row and column data in text format of complex field output files are wrapped. No wrapping when unchecked.

Use binary format for FGD output files
When checked, FRED writes all FGD output files in binary format. Files are written in ASCII text format when this option is unchecked. Binary format is preferred when multiple file read/write operations are performed (usually in script) for speed considerations.

Generate curve enclosure masks
Enclosure masks are used to improve the speed of raytracing surfaces using parametric trimming curves. While enclosure masks can provide improved performance when raytracing, they can significantly slow down load times and model updating. Turning this option off can be useful when editing large models that contain parametric trimming curves (such as those imported from CAD) because it reduces the time spent Updating. Before raytracing, be sure to turn this option back on and re-load the document.
