Description


This feature allows customization of the script editor and output window.

This feature can be accessed by selecting Tools > Preferences from the menu, and then clicking on the Format tab.

 

 

Controls


This dialog gives a listing of the settings that can be set for displaying text in FRED.

Inputs / Description

Defaults

Category

Lists the various categories that can have their text customized.

Script Editor Window

Reset Button

Resets the selected item listed in the Colors list to its default.

 

Reset All Button

Resets all items in the Colors list to their default.

 

Tab Size

Selects how large a tab is in the macro editor.

Keep Tabs

In the macro editor, selecting this option inserts actual tab characters when you press the tab button.

Insert Space

In the macro editor, selecting this option inserts space characters when you press the tab button, instead of tabs.

Not selected

Font

Sets the font of the text item selected in the Category list.

Fixedsys

Size

Sets the font size of the text item selected in the Category list.

Colors

Gives a listing of the various items in a Category that can be colored.

Foreground

Sets the foreground color for the item selected in the Colors listing.

Tab Size

Sets the width of a tab.

Use Tabs

Specifies to indent using Tabs.

Selected

Use Spaces

Specifies to indent using Spaces.

Not-selected

Split View

Split view partitions the editor window between the editing environment and the debugging information window.

Unchecked

Multi-sheet edit

Allows use of the WinWrap sheet functionality.  This option can be useful when debugging macros that use multiple script files (ex. library objects).

Show status bar

Displays script specific notifications in the status bar immediately below the editor environment.

Checked

Show outline

Allows expansion or contraction of Subroutine and Function code blocks.

 

Show objects

Displays the object of the current code being edited.

 

Show edit toolbar

Shows toolbars associated with Edit commands.

 

Show file toolbar

Shows toolbars associated with File commands.

 

Show line numbers

Displays line numbers in the editor environment.

 

Show procedures

Displays the procedure of the current code being edited.

 

 

OK

Accept settings and close dialog box.

 

Cancel

Discard settings and close dialog box.
