Collating pages
When collating pages, FRED checks the state of the Page Order option to determine which sequence to print the pages in. For example, suppose your Output Window has A-R columns and 60 rows and a page can hold 5 columns and 20 rows.
If the Page Order option is set to “First Rows, then Columns”, FRED will print columns A-E and rows 1-20 on the first page, then print columns A-E and rows 21-40 on the second page, then columns A-E and rows 41-60. It will then move to columns F-J, and proceed in the same manner.
If the Page Order option is set to “First Columns, then Rows”, FRED will print columns A-E and rows 1-20 on the first page, then print columns F-J and rows 21-40 on the second page. It will continue in the same manner until it prints the entire print job.
