Description

The Movie feature in FRED allows you to create a sequence of visualization frames that, when played, smoothly transition the camera through a series of positions the optical system. There can be only one movie per file, which is saved as part of your FRED document.  The frame list is modified by right clicking in the spreadsheet area and selecting from the menu list.

Application Notes

Constructing a Movie

Each frame has 3 vectors, a delay, and an interpolation count. The three vectors describe the location and orientation of the camera for that frame. The delay, measured in milliseconds, shows how long the frame will last and the interpolation count defines the number of steps there are in a given frame. For instance, if a given frame has a 60 ms delay with an interpolation count of 4 then the camera will transition between the two frame positions and orientations stopping at 3 intermediate points between the two frames every 20ms.  The fourth point is the starting point for the next frame.

Additional frames/entries can be appended, inserted, or deleted via a right mouse click pop-up menu. The current camera position/orientation can be appended to the frame list with a single click.
