This utility reads and applies the preferences defined in a text file.
Note that some preference settings relate to hard drive locations which may be inaccessible to other machines and/or users. In this case it is recommended to scan though the saved text file in a text editor and simply remove the lines that relate to non-shared locations. On reading the preferences into another FRED instance only the settings included in the file are read and applied, any settings that are not listed will not be affected.
This feature can be accessed by selecting Tools > Read Preferences from a File from the menu.
This feature opens a standard file browser through which the user can navigate to a preferences file to read (load).
