Warning: Sample cell area is zero. Unable to compute <<requested analysis>> statistics. This warning is generated when calling an analysis and indicates that either no rays made it surface under analysis, or that of the rays that made it to the surface, none passed the ray filter set for the analysis surface. We can use the Analysis... Ray Summary to review the surfaces that rays terminated on, and the number of rays that made it to those surfaces. If the analysis surface is attached to a surface that features in the ray summary (so we know rays are present on the surface) then the likely culprit is the ray filter criterion filtering out all the rays that were subject to the analysis.
Num rays halted because could not resolve proper material (warn:10) Indicates the number of rays halted as the result of an unresolved material conflict. As an example, if source rays begin immersed in Air and, upon their first intersection, encounter a surface for which Material 1 is Glass and Material 2 is Epoxy, then this warning will be generated and the ray terminated.
Num rays halted because could not resolve proper transmitted glue material (warn:11) Indicates the number of rays for which the material cannot be resolved at a glued interface. Occurs when a single incident ray splits into multiple rays and all rays do not refract into the same material.
Num rays halted because could not resolve proper reflected glue material (warn:12) Indicates the number of rays for which the material cannot be resolved at a glued interface. Occurs when a single incident ray splits into multiple rays and all rays do not reflect into the same material.
Num rays halted because unable to complete coherent secondary ray intersection (warn:18) Indicates the number of rays halted due to the inability of one or more associated secondary rays to intersect the surface that its base ray intersected. Often encountered for surfaces such as spheres and ellipsoids where the base ray can intersect at a near-tangent condition.
Num rays halted because unable to complete coherent secondary ray refraction (warn:19) Indicates the number of rays halted due to the inability of one or more associated secondary rays to refract at the surface that its base ray refracted. Often encountered at angles of incidence beyond the critical angle of Total Internal Reflection.
Num rays halted because unable to complete coherent secondary ray reflection (warn:20) Indicates the number of rays halted due to the inability of one or more associated secondary rays to reflect at the surface that its base ray reflected. Often encountered for reflective surfaces such as spheres and ellipsoids where the base ray can intersect at a near-tangent condition.
